about mcsc

we’re all about positive social change

MCSC is a registered charity dedicated to the ethos of community supporting community.

We provide material aid and support services to people experiencing personal and financial difficulties in Mornington, Mt Martha, Mt Eliza and Moorooduc.

We make change via resources, advocacy, and providing safety for those in our community requiring support.

We offer a place of community, understanding and support for anyone who walks through our doors.

What we do at a glance

Advocacy: local stories shared at State Parliament, homelessness forums, and meetings with MPs to push for systemic change.

Crisis Accommodation (The Ranch): MCSC operates The Ranch, the only crisis accommodation service on the Mornington Peninsula.

Emergency Relief: We provide immediate support to those facing crisis — including food, vouchers, transport assistance, utility relief and referrals.

Fresh Food Program: We provide fresh groceries to around 1,000 households each week through our food programs — including 100 loaves of bread daily and $200 food parcels every Friday.

No-Interest Loans (NILS): 120 loan approvals and more each year for key expenses via a free service.

Op Shop: a place to shop affordably in Mornington and support others including offering essentails via our voucher program and raises funds for our work.

The Meeting Room Café: Our free café serves 950 meals and 700 coffees every week, offering more than just nourishment — it creates connection.

Volunteering: This is core to our service delivery, having a team of over 220 trained people offering support and a space for connection.

Donate to the work we do

Funds donated to MCSC are used directly in your local community to reach those in need. We welcome donations of clothes and bric-a-brac for our Op Shop, food for our pantry, and financial support.

Your financial donations are tax deductible and they really do make all our work possible.

Thank you for your support.
